Family History

William Verity Hart was born in 1898 the son of Joseph a coal miner hewer and Helen Hart née Straw and the brother of Ursula, Agnes and Helen Hart of 7 Gladstone Terrace, The Park, Kirkby in Ashfield. Joseph Hart was born in 1872 at Church Greasley, Helen Straw was born in 1873 at Swadlincote, married on 25th December 1896 at Church Greasley. In 1911 they lived at 24 Park Street Kirkby in Ashfield.

Military History

Private William Verity Hart enlisted on 8th May 1915, he served abroad but was discharged from the Army on 26th June 1917 due to wounds, he was awarded a Silver War Badge, 199449. He died on 3th December 1918 and is buried at Kingsway Old Cemetery, Kirkby in Ashfield. grave reference. B.A.D.1696
