John was born in 1891 in Woodborough,Nottinghamshire he was the son of Charles Wright born 1849 in Chesterfield a frame worker knitter and Rebecca born 1858 in Woodborough.He is shown on the 1901 census as having an elder brother Charles born 1879 in Woodborough.On the 1911 census he is shown as 20 yrs living with his mother who by this time is head of the family so presumably his father had died and they are living at 10 Shelt Hill, Woodborough. He married Lucy who after his death remarried and became Lucy Barks and went on to live at 1, Cauldwells Yard, Sherwood St, Warsop, Mansfield

Military History

John enlisted at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and served with the Sherwood Foresters. He was killed in action France & Flanders.
