Henry Hall was born on 1st February 1885 at Hucknall and was the son of John a publican and the late Emma Hall née Fell of 74 George Street, Hucknall. His father was born in 1858 in Nottingham and his mother Emma Fell was born in 1854 at Hucknall she died in 1916, they were married on 29th November 1876 at St Marys Church, Hucknall, they went on to have the following children, John b1877, William b1879, Ethel b1882, Jane b1883, Henry b1885 and Ellen b1888 all were born at Hucknall. Henry married his wife Edith Elizabeth Banks in 1908, their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district, they went on to have the following children, Florence born 1909 Hucknall and Marjorie b1910 Hucknall. In the 1911 census Henry and his family are living at 20 Linney Lane Hucknall and are shown as Henry Hall 26 yrs a journeyman plasterer, he is living with his wife Edith Elizabeth 22 yrs and their children, Florence 2 yrs and Marjorie 6 months of age. In the same 1911 census his parents are living at 74 George Street, Hucknall and were shown as John 53 yrs a retired publican, he is living with his wife Emma 57 yrs. Henry and his family emigrated to Canada.
Private Henry Hall enlisted on 13th January 1915 at Edmonton, Canada, he gave his age as 30 yrs and his occupation was that of a plasterer. He served with the 49th battalion Alberta Regiment, Canadian Infantry. He died on 31st July 1921 and is buried at Edmonton Cemetery, Alberta, Canada.
