Family History

He was the son of Thomas and Hannah Easom. In 1901 they lived at 39 Prospect Drive Shirebrook Nottinghamshire. In 1911 William was a boarder with a married couple, Charles and Annie E. Baxter and their 2 children living in Daybrook. Thomas and Hannah later moved to 2a Ginnal Street Hucknall Torkard Nottinghamshire. He was the husband of Annie (née Read) Easom and the father of Maggie and Wilfred Easom. Annie married Charles Morley in 1923.

Military History

Private William Easom enlisted at Shriebrook and served with the 9th battion Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire) Regiment. He joined the 9th battalion on Gallipoli probably as a replacement for losses. He died of wounds at home and is buried in Shirebrook Cemetery.
