Private Joseph George Allwood served as George Allwood, he enlisted at Jacksdale whilst residing at Hucknall, he initially served with the service number 38504 in the Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment). He was serving with the 214th Company Machine Gun Corps when he was killed in action on 20th September 1917 and is buried at New Irish Farm Cemetery, Belgium.
