William Eli Hallam

William Eli Hallam was born in 1893 at Sutton Bonnington and was the son of Frederick William a farm labourer and Sarah Annie (known as Annie) Hallam née Mott of Sutton Bonnington. His father Fred was born in 1865 at Sutton Bonnington, his mother Sarah Annie Mott was born in 1865 at Dorset, they were married in 1883 their marriage was recorded in the Loughborough registration district. They went on to have 9 children, sadly 1 died in infancy or early childhood, their surviving children all born in Sutton Bonnington were Clara b1888, Annie b1891, William b1894, Alice b 1895, Mary b1898, Fanny b1900, Fred Arthur b1905 and John b1908 . 1901 Cencus the family lived on Main St Sutton Bonington, In the 1911 census the family are living at Sutton Bonnington and are shown as Fred 46 yrs a farm labourer, he is living with his wife Annie 46 yrs and their children, Alice 16 yrs a griswold machinist, Mary 13 yrs a griswold machinist, Fanny 10 yrs a scholar, Fred Arthur 6 yrs and John 3 yrs of age William Eli married his wife Ruth Akers (born 15th February 1893 at Kegworth) in 1915 their marriage was recorded in the Shardlow Registration Disitrict, they lived at Borough Street, Kegworth. Following his death his widow Ruth was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week which commenced on 7th April 1919.
