He was the son of Joseph and Mary Bostock of Malvern House Beeston Nottingham and the brother of Joseph Avery, Maud Sarah Eleanor and Mary Irene Bostock.

Military History

Second Lieutenant Alfred Sidney Bostock, enlisted with the 7th battalion Sherwood Foresters and was commissioned on 27th November 1917 into the 8th Battalion Durham Light Infantry, he was killed in action on 27th May 1918. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial, France.
