Born 1898 in Netherfield the son of Thomas and Livinia Ann Berridge. He was one of 4 surviving children. In 1911 the family were living at 28 Dennis Street in Netherfield. John was a lithographic printer working at Staffords & Co the local printing firm. At some point before 1920 Lavinia Ann moved to 157 Middle Furlong Rd., Nottingham.

Military History

John enlisted at Hucknall and was initially in the Sherwood Foresters as Private 268766. He was sent to France and was killed in action. He was buried in the Romeries Communal Cemetery Extension in France. John was eligible for the British and Victory medals
