George Frederick Webster was born in Worksop in 1884 to Mary Jane Webster. Mary then married George Henry Revill at Worksop the following year, 1885. The couple lived in Worksop at 138 Newgate Street and had five children there, all born in Worksop, Harry born 1886, Frank in 1890, Ruth 1893, Albert 1904 and Hilda born in 1906. George Frederick Webster had left the family home by 1910 as he married Florence Jarvice at Peterborough on 6 May 1910. They made their home at 66 Goldsmith Street, Mansfield, where they had four children, Harry born 11 Sept 1911, Eveline Ethel born 14 Jan 1913, George Frederick born 26 Sept 1914 and Kathleen Mary born 19 Oct 1915.
George Frederick Webster was attested on the 10 Dec 1915 at Mansfield when he was age 31. He initially joined the Sherwood Foresters number 82745 and on the 21 July 1917 he was transferred to the 7th Bn The Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment). It was in this regiment that he was killed in 1918 and is Commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, France.
