Oliver Price was born on 7th July 1895 at Ruddington, he was baptised on 29th September 1895 at St Peters Church, Ruddington he was the son of Herbert a chemist engineer for Boots the chemist and Mary Price née Oliver of East Cottage, Ruddington Herbert was born in 1871, Mary Oliver was also born in 1871 both were born in Ruddington, they were married in 1891 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district, they had 3 children, sadly 1 died in infancy or early childhood, their other surviving child was Thomas Walter Price born 1901 at Ruddington. In the 1911 census the family are living at Church Street, Ruddington, Herbert 40 yrs is an engineer for Boots the chemist, he is living with his wife Mary 40 years, they are living with their sons Oliver 15 yrs a bank clerk and Thomas Walter 10 years of age.

Military History

Second Lieutenant Oliver Price served with the 56th Squadron, Royal Air Force he died on 4th November 1918 and i buried at Valenciennes (St Roch) communal cemetery, France.
