Wilfred was born in 1891 at Scarrington and was the eldest of two sons born to William Henry, a foreman on a farm, and his wife Emma Pritchett. His father William was born in 1868 at Collingham and Emma was born 1869 at Ropsley, Lincolnshire. Their second son, George H., was born in 1893 also in Scarrington. In both the 1901 and 1911 census the family was living in Scarrington village. On the 1911 census, both Wilfred (20) and George H (18) were both farm labourers. In the 3/4 of 1913 , Wilfred marries his wife Sarah Ellen Cook, which is registered in the Grantham Registration district.
Wilfrid Pritchett is not listed on CGWC. Wilfred enlisted and served with the Royal Field Artillery as a gunner . He died at at Great Gonersby, near Grantham, on 21 August 1919 as a result of being gassed in the war.
