Pte. Darch was called up for service and trained with the Sherwood Foresters. However, he was later transferred to 211th Employment Company, Labour Corps. He was seriously wounded and sent down the line to hospital at Etaples, where he died on 06/11/1918. He was buried at Etapes Military Cemetery.
