Family History

He was the son of Henry Marriott and Alice Spick and the brother of Edith, Ethel and Alfred Spick. In 1911 they lived at 16 Florence Street Crocus Street and later at 2 Poet's Terrace Wilford Grove (both Meadows Nottingham).

Military History

Private George Spick, served with the 9th Battalion Rifle Brigade, he was killed in action on 9th April 1917. He is buried in Tilloy British Cemetery, Tilloy-Les-Mofflaines.

In memoriam published 9th April 1918 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “SPICK. – In loving memory of Rifleman George Spick, 9th Rifle Brigade, killed in action April 9th, 1917. The supreme sacrifice. Sadly missed. – Edith. “SPICK. – In loving memory of my dear son and brother George, killed in action April 9th, 1917.
