He was the son of John and Elizabeth Ann Stirland and the brother of Alice Stirland. In 1911 they lived at 13 Constance Grove Wilford Road Meadows Nottingham.

Military History

Sergeant Arthur Stirland, enlisted in Nottingham and served with “D” Battery, 108th Brigade Royal Field Artillery. He was killed in action on 12th August 1917 and is buried in Potijze Chateau Lawn Cemetery.
