Family History

Job Arnold Webster was born in 1881 at Eastwood he was the fourth son of the late Levi Webster a coal miner and Fanny (Frances) Webster née Bannister of 52 The Breach Eastwood Nottinghamshire. He was the brother of Charles Henry, Franklin, Charlotte Maud Laura, Fanny and Philip Webster. Levi Webster was born in 1846 at Ilkeston, he died in 1903 aged 57 yrs, Fanny Bannister was born in 1850 at Greasley, they were married on 20th June 1874 at St Leodegarius Church, Basford and went on to have 8 children. In 1911 the family lived at 52 The Breach, Eastwood and are shown as Fanny 61 yrs a widow, she is living with 7 of her children, including Job 29 yrs a boot repairer

Military History

Private Job Arnold Webster attested at Hucknall in March 1916. Having trained at Brockelsby and Chelmsford he went to France with the Royal Scots and was wounded 11/4/1917 and hospitalised at Keighley Yorkshire. He was subsequently transferred to the KOSB. (Eastwood & Kimberley Advertiser 10/5/1918) However UK Soldiers Who Died 1914-1919 lists him as 'Formerly 39592 Lincolnshire Regiment'.
