Alfred Owen Wilmot was born in 1885 and was the son of John a starch maker and Annie Wilmot née Manning of 94 Albert Street, Bulwell John was born in 1854 at Kirkby Woodhouse, Annie Manning was born in 1848 at Oundle, Northamptonshire, they were married on 22nd October 1876 at St Andrews Church, Nottingham they had 5 children. In 1911 the family are living at 94 Albert Street, Bulwell Annie 63 yrs is married, a housekeeper she is living with 3 of her children, Owen 26 yrs a butcher, Oliver 24yrs a labourer at Great Central railways.

Military History

Private Alfred Owen Wilmot enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 16th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He was killed in action on 31st July 1917 and having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Ypres Menin Gate Memorial, Belgium
