His middle name is spelt 'McMillen' on the census records. He was the son of Henry and Sarah Lyttle Hanna who on 31 March 1901 were living at 6 Howe Street, Shankhill, Antrim, with their two sons, Archibald Mcmillen (4, born Jan/Feb/Mar 1897), and Henry Raymond (1). By 1911 the family was living at 21 Strandview Street, Cromac, Antrim, and there was now a third child, a daughter, Eleanor Logan Hanna (6). Also living with the family was Eleanor McMillen (68), listed as the mother of the head of household (Henry). The census gives the family's religion as 'Presbyterian'. At some point after the 1911 census Archibald - if not his family - moved to Nottingham, although he enlisted in Belfast.
Served in the 15th Bn Royal Irish Rifles. He disembarked in France on 4 October 1915. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
