Family History

Henry Bartrop was born in Worksop in 1878. He had three siblings all born in Worksop, Herbert 1876, Walter 1878 and Annie in 1882. Their parents were Walter, a railway porter, and Ann Bartrop. By 1891, the family had moved to Widnes in Lancashire where the father was working as a railway inspector. Whilst the Bartrop family continued to reside in Widnes, Henry left the nest and in the 1911 census, there was a Mrs Mary Ann Bartrop living at Shipley, Yorks. They had married five years previous and had four children, all who had not survived.
