Family History

Ernest Arthur Harvey was born in 1887 the son of the late Charles Lowe Harvey a publican and Ann Mary Harvey née Todd of Bleak Hall Kirkby in Ashfield. and the brother of Wallace, Bernard, Winifred, Eleanor and Doris Harvey. In 1911 they lived at 'Bleak Hall' East Kirkby. Charles Lowe was born in 1852 at Kirkby in Ashfield, he died in 1903 aged 51 yrs, Ann Mary Todd was born in 1858 at Kirkby in Ashfield, married on 28th June 1875 at St Wilfred's Church, East Kirkby they went on to have 9 children, sadly two died in infancy or early childhood.

Military History

Private Ernest Arthur Harvey enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at East Kirkby, he died of wounds on 1st May 1917 at the 8th casualty clearing station, France and is buried at Duisans British Cemetery grave reference 2.O.24
