Arthur Frederick Worthington was born in 1890 the son of William a farm labourer and the late Eliza Worthington of Toton Row, Toton, Nottinghamshire. William was born in 1858 at Kinoulton Eliza was born in 1860 . at Willoughby, she died in 1896 aged 37 yrs they were married prior to 1881 and had the following children, Ida Mary b1881 Willoughby on the Wolds, Elizabeth b1886 at Kinoulton, John Henry b1888 Toton, Arthur Frederick b1891 Toton, Emily b1894 at Toton. In 1911 the family is living at Toton Row, Toton, Nottingham and are shown as William a widow and farm labourer, he is living with his daughter Elizabeth 25 yrs housekeeper. Also in 1911 we find that Arthur Frederick has left the family home, he is shown as being 22 yrs single and a serving soldier in the 1st battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry who were stationed in Hong Kong. Arthur married Annie Wilkinson in 1914 their marriage was recorded in the Shardlow Registration District.

Military History

Private Arthur Frederick Worthington was a regular soldier serving in 1911 with 1st battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. He died on 17th February 1915 at Long Eaton of rheumatism and nephritis and is buried in Long Eaton Cemetery.
