Family History

Charles was born in 1892 the son of Charles a licensed valuer and auctioneer and Annie Webster (née Bentley). Charles and Annie had seven children one of whom died during infancy. Charles's surviving siblings were Mildred, Harriet, William Edward and Annie. In 1901 the family lived at 1 Lennox Road and in 1911 at 243 Middlewood Road (both Hillsborough). In May 1916 Charles married Lydia May Jenkinson at Sheffield. Charles's effects of £177 7 shillings and 7 pence were left to his widow Lydia May Webster (Probate 30/3/1917 Sheffield).

Military History

He enlisted in Sheffield and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial on the Somme.
