Family History

Eric was the son of Joseph Arden Thomas a chemist and Kate Snow (formerly Thomas) of 'Cotswold' Mill Way Mill Hill London. They had four children :- Kathleen Ida, Geoffrey A, Eric Lawrence and Josephine Alice. In 1901 they lived at Oxford Buildings London Road Cheltenham. By 1911 the family had moved to Bath.

Military History

He joined the army as a private in August 1914 receiving his commission in June 1915. He first entered a theatre of war (France) on 26th June 1916. He had been signalling officer for the last two years and was killed while fixing a signalling station at Gouzeancourt. He is buried in Gouzencourt New British Cemetery Nord France Grave Reference: IV E 16
