Family History

Thomas the son of George a licensed vitualler and Ada Beatrice Preston, of 'Western Hotel' Leicester. He had one sibling a sister Louisa. In 1901 and 1911 they lived at 70 Western Road Leicester.

Military History

When Thomas first enlisted he served with the 2/4th battalion Leicestershire Regiment where he was a sergeant (3460). He first entered a theatre of war in France on 4th September 1917. He was commissioned to second lieutenant on 29th January 1918 and served with the 6th battalion North Staffordshire Regiment. He died of wounds on 30th September 1918 and is buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery Belgium Grave Reference: XXIV C 21
