Harold George William Lawson was born in 1893 at Carlton and was the only child of Tamsett and Laura Lawson (née Hart). His father Tamsett was born in 1863 in Nottingham and his mother Laura Hart in 1866 in Breedon, Leicestershire. They were married in 1891 (Shardlow Registration District). In the 1911 census the family was living at 14 Ossington Villas, Sherwood Street, Nottingham and shown as Tamsett William Lawson 48 yrs a chemist manager, his wife Laura 45 yrs and their son Harold George William 18 yrs an engineering student.
Harold George William Lawson enlisted on 8th June 1915 at London at the age of 23. He was living at the Y.M.C.A., Tottenham Court Road, London. He served with the London Electrical Engineers but was discharged on 27th August 1915 being unfit for further service. Harold died on 17th September 1915; place of burial not known.
