Family History

Lindsay was the son of William John an assayer and Eliza Davies of Waterloo Liverpool. William and Eliza had four children, May, Dorothy, Vera and Lindsay Ramsay. In 1901 they lived at 3 Milton Road Waterloo Liverpool. Lindsay was a university student by 1911.

Military History

Lindsay originally enlisted at Liverpool 13/6/1910 into the Territorial Army for 4 years. He served with the 10th Bn (Scottish) King's Liverpool Regiment (2262) and was discharged 12/6/1914.On 19th November 1914 he was gazetted temporary second lieutenant and served with the 18th Bn King's Liverpool Regiment. He was wounded early in the Battle of The Somme and died from these wounds on 5th July 1916. He is buried in La Neuville British Cemetery Corbie Somme Grave Reference: I A 75.
