Thomas Jones Bosworth a farmer and Annie Bosworth, late of Spratton Northampton had 5 children, four sons : - Thomas Owen, Humphrey Worthington, Charles Phillip Worthington, Arthur Wright and a daughter Marjorie Ann. His brother, Arthur Wright was a twin. In 1891 the family was living at Cadeby, Market Bosworth in Leicestershire. By 1911 Philip’s parents and sister were living at 11 St George's Avenue Northampton. Philip’s estate of £280 10 shillings and 10 pence was left to his brother Humphrey Worthington Bosworth an electrical engineer. Arthur Bosworth was also killed in action at Loos on 26th September 1915 while serving in the same Lincolnshire battalion.
At the outbreak of the Great War Phillip was in the arctic region of Canada exploring with his brother Dr Thomas Owen Bosworth. He immediately returned to England where he volunteered for the army and was gazetted to second lieutenant on 22nd December 1914 into the Lincolnshire Regiment. He was killed in action leading his men on 26th September 1915 during the battle of Loos. he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.
