Wilfred Willmott

Wilfred Willmott was born in 1899 at Selston and was the son of George a coal miner and Annie Willmott née Walker of Westwood His father George was born in 1873 at Greasley and his mother Annie Walker was born in 1871 also at Greasely they were married in 1895, their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration district, they went on to have the following children, George b1896, Winifred b1898, Wilfred b1899, Annie b1902, William b1904, Ellen b1906, Claude b1909 and Norah b1910, all were born at Westwood. In the 1911 census the family are living at Westwood village near Selston and are shown as George 38 yrs a coal miner he is living with his wife Annie 40 yrs and their children George 15 yrs a colliery driver underground, Winifred 13 yrs a scholar, Wilfred 11 yrs a scholar, Annie 9 yrs a scholar, Lillian 7 yrs a scholar, Ellen 5 yrs, Claude 2 yrs and Norah 5 months old. Wilfred married his wife Emma Jane Taylor in 1919 at Belper. His widow lived at 45 Charles Street Leabrook Derbyshire. His probate record , administered in London on 17th February 1920 states :- 'Wilfred Willmott of Westwood Nottinghamshire died 15th December 1919 at Presheath Military Hospital near Whitchurch,Shropshire and his effects of £101.10shillings were left to his widow Emma Jane Willmott.'
