David Tansey

David Tansey was born in 1893 at Jacksdale and was the son of the late Charles a coal miner hewer and Maud Emma Tansey née Hudson of Sedgwick Street, Jacksdale. His father was born in 1854 at Stoney Stanton, he died in 1906 aged 54 yrs, his mother Maud Emma Hudson was born in 1860 at Derby, they were married on 16th November 1880 at St John's Church, Derby, they went on to have 11 children, sadly 4 were to die in infancy or early childhood, their surviving children were, Charles Edwin b1883 Brinsley, Bertha Dinah b1886 Brinsley, Lewin Richard b1887 Aldecar, John William b1888 Brinsley, David b1893 Jacksdale, Arthur b1895 Jacksdale and Katherine b1895 Jacksdale. In the 1911 census his widowed mother is living at Sedgewick Street, Jacksdale, she is shown as Maud Tansey 51 yrs a widow, she is living with her children, Lewin Richard 24 yrs a coal miner loader, John William 23 yrs a coal miner loader, David 18 yrs a coal miner loader, Arthur 15 yrs a coal miner pony driver and Katherine 16 yrs no occupation listed.
