Family History

Frederick William Brutnell Lees was born in 1884 to Robert and Sarah Lees. He had a sister, eight years younger than him called Dorothy. The family moved on to the Nottingham area where Frederick took employment as an apprentice builder and his father, an engine driver in a colliery. At the beginning of 1911, he married Elizabeth Baguley at Nottingham and had a girl, Winifred, by the end of the year. By now, the couple had set up home at 6 Gedling St, in Mansfield, Notts where Frederick was now working as a police constable. Sometime after 1911, they moved to the Doncaster area (most likely Misson) where they had another child, Joan E, and was also the place of Frederick’s death.

Military History

As Frederick "died of sickness contracted in the Great War", it can be concluded that he was discharged through ill health and died later in 1920.
