William England was born and bred in Misson. He was the eldest son of William and Clara England. As a 16 year old he was working in Misson, as a farm servant.

Military History

He enlisted in Doncaster, was killed in action and commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial Pte William England Retford Times 21 July 1916 On Sunday afternoon a service was held at the Misson Parish Church in honour of Private William England who was killed in action in France. The Vicar, in his address, spoke of the many good qualities of the deceased, commending him for his cheerfulness and willingness to help those at home and in the village. The deceased will be missed as a bell ringer and choir man.
