Family History

Born 1888 in Netherfield he was the son of Thomas and Lucy A Dent. His father was a Railway Guard and William had one younger sister. In 1901 the family were living at No 10 North Western Terrace, Victoria Road, Netherfield, and in 1911 at No 78 Victoria road, Netherfield. William became an upholsterer at the local furniture factory after he left school.

Military History

He enlisted at Grantham. He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial, France and was eligible for the British and Victory medals
