Lewis was born in 1897 in Calverton,he was the son of John and Mary Wiggett,he in shown on the 1911 census as being 14 yrs of age and living in Calverton with his parents John born 1864 a joiner from Annesley,Notts and Mary born 1866 of Arnold and his four elder siblings.

Lewis enlisted in Nottingham and served with the Grenadier Guards,he was killed in action France & Flanders
