Military History

Thomas Yeomans attested on 09/12/1915 at Nottingham, and he was mobilised on 16/02/1916 at Derby. He was posted to 3rd Battalion, Sherwood Foresters for training on 17/02/1916, and was then posted to 2nd Battalion, Sherwood Foresters and to France on 20/06/1916. He transferred to 1/5th Battalion on 06/07/1916 and was appointed lance corporal on 04/09/1916. He had been appointed acting corporal at the time he was killed in action on 01/07/1917 during the Battle of Arras.
