Father: Albert Pattinson, born in 1873 at Leicester, working as a fruit and fish hawker. Elizabeth Rachel Pattinson, born 1874 in Nottingham. Brother: George, born in 1906 in Nottingham. Sister: Gertrude, born in 1896 in Nottingham. The family lived at 18 Knotted Alley, Leen Side, Nottingham before moving to 3 Pemberton Street, Leen Side, Nottingham.

Military History

Pte. Pattinson was called up for service and following training he was drafted to France.He died of pneumonia in hospital while a prisoner of war, and was interred Sarralbe Military Cemetery, France (grave ref C.15).

Extra Information

Obituary published 15th February 1919 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “PATTINSON. – On October 9th, 1918, in prisoner of war hospital, Saarablen, Lorraine, 93156 Pte. A. Pattinson, 1st Batt. Sherwood Foresters, of pneumonia, aged 19 years and two months. Shattered hopes.” In memoriam published 9th October 1919 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “PATTINSON. – In loving memory of Pte. A. Pattinson, who died at Sarrelhem, Lorraine, October 9th, 1918.
