Father:George Parker, born in 1863 in Nottingham, working as a domestic coachman and later as a groom. Mother: Annie W. Parker, born in 1869 Adbolton, Nottinghamshire. Sisters: Annie May, born in 1897 in Nottingham and working as a pattern girl, Winifred, born in 1902 in Nottingham and adopted daughter, Doris Millington, born 1908. The family lived at 17 Chaucer Terrace, Nottingham before moving to 38 Conway Street and finally 30 Sherwin Street, Nottingham. Harold Parker was married to Florence Parker and they lived at 34 Pym Street, Nottingham.
Pte. Parker was called up for service and following training he was drafted to France. The battalion were involved in the fighting during the Battle of Lys as the German field army attempted to break through to the Channel ports. He was killed in action on 25/04/1918, but his body was never recovered. His name was, however, commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
