Family History

Father: John Hart, born in 1856 at Basford, Nottingham and working as a bricklayer. Mother: Matilda Hart, born in 1856 in Nottingham. Brothers: Albert, born in 1891. Sisters: Kate, born in 1875 and working as a lace mender, Lilly, born in 1879, Florence, born in 1884, Sissy, born in 1886 and Nelly, born in 1889. The children were all born in Nottingham The family lived at 17 Trafalgar Terrace, Radford, Nottingham, before moving to 2 Pym Street, St Ann's Well Road, Nottingham.

Military History

Pte. Hart volunteered for service and following training he was drafted to France. On 05/06/1915 the battalion took up trenches in front of Potijze, which were very shallow. The battalion sustained casualties on the next day, including Pte. Hart who was killed in action. He was buried at Hop Store Cemetery.
