Jonathan Wakefield

He was the son of James and Emma Wakefield and the brother of James, William H, Harriet, Richard, Joseph, Betsy and Harry Wakefield. In 1881, they lived at 12, Washington Street, Colwick Street, St Mary's and in 1891 at 27, South Street, Sneinton (both Nottingham). Jonathan married his wife Eliza Ann Crossland born 9th October 1876 in 1897 at Nottingham, they lived at 4 Young Street, Blue Bell Hill Road and later 55 Pym Street, Gordon Road, Nottingham. they had the following children, James Charles born 1900 Harold Jonathan born 1902, Hilda May born 7th June 1903, Ernest Vincent born 12th December 1904, Ida Marie born 20th May 1906,Eveline born 25th September 1908, Horace born 11th February 1912 and Phyllis Wakefield born 7th September 1915 . In the 1911 census the family lived at 3, St George's Street, Walker Street, Sneinton where Jonathan is 34 yrs of age and a warehouseman and later at 41, Young Street, Blue Bell Hill, (both Nottingham). Following his death his widow Eliza Ann was awarded a pension of 33 shillings and 9 pence a week which commenced on 29th April 1918 and was increased to 42 shillings and 1 pence on 1st May 1918.
