Ernest Turner was born in 1899 at Nottingham and was the son of Frank a tailor and Lucy Turner née Shaw of 23 Paxton Street, Gordon Road, Nottingham . His father was born in 1866 at Wisbech and his mother Lucy Shaw was born in 1860 at Nottingham they were married in 1888 and went on to have the following children, Mabel b1888, Frank b1893 Gladys b1896 and Ernest Turner b1899 all were born in Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family lived at 23 Paxton Street Gordon Road Nottingham and were shown as Frank 45 yrs a tailor he is living with his wife Lucy 49 yrs and their children Mabel 22 yrs a hosiery worker, Frank 18 yrs a hosiery worker, Gladys 14 yrs a hosiery worker and Ernest 12 yrs a scholar.
