Philip John Selby

Phillip John Selby was born in 1898 at Whitwick, Leicestershire and was the son of Frederick John a joiner and Fanny Selby née Adams of 18 Conway Street Nottingham His father Frederick John was born in 1863 in Reigate Surrey and his mother Fanny Adams was born in 1872 in Ticknall, Derbyshire, they were married in 1898 their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration District, they went on to have 6 children, their children listed on the 1901/11 census were, Phillip John b1898 Whitwick, Ernest Walter b1900 Nottingham, Edith b1902 Nottingham, Harold Sydney b1904 Nottingham, Kathleen b1907 Nottingham and Dora Beatrice b1911 Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family are living at 19 Conway Street, Nottingham and are shown as Frederick John 48 yrs a joiner, he is living with his wife Fanny 39 yrs and their children, Phillip John 12 yrs a scholar, Ernest Walter 11 yrs a scholar, Edith 9 yrs a scholar, Harold Sydney 7 yrs a scholar, Kathleen 4 yrs and Dora Beatrice 11 months.
