George Mellors was the son of George and Emma Mellors and the brother of Albert E (1879), Lucy (1881), Thomas (1885), Edith (1887), Emma (1887), Bert (1889), William (1892), Walter (1895), Daisy (1897), Harold (1900) and Dorothy (1902) Mellors. In 1881, the family lived in Nottingham at 37, Little John Street, St Mary's. By 1891, they had moved to Lffler Road, Plumstead, Woolwich Kent. In 1901, they lived at 3, Mineral Street, Pretoria Terrace, Plumstead and in 1911 at 87, Conway Road, Plumstead. In 1915, George married Ethel Baker at Dartford, Kent and their daughter Joan Louise Mellors was born in 1916. With effect from 12/5/1919, Ethel received a weekly pension of 25s/9d. She was living by this time at 5, Upper Holly Hill Road, Belvedere, Kent.
