Horace Hancox

Corporal Horace Hancox, served with the 73rd Field Bakery, Army Service Corps, he died on 17th November 1918 of pneumonia and is buried in Dar es Salaam War Cemetery.

Mundella Magazine, Christmas 1918, Old Scholars' Column: 'We regret to report the death of Corporal Harold Hancox, who died of pneumonia at Dar-es-Salaam, Nov. 17th.' Death notices published 28th November 1918 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “HANCOX. - On November 17th, of pneumonia, at Dar es Salaam, East Africa, Corporal Horace, Army Service Corps, the dearly beloved husband of Gertie (nee Boot), 36, Adson-drive, aged 29, after two years and nine months' service abroad. A bitter blow to part with one I loved so dear. “HANCOX. - On November 17th, at Dar es Salaam, East Africa, Corporal Horace, beloved son of Thomas and the late Sarah Hancox. Re-united. “HANCOX. – On November 17th, of pneumonia, at Dar es Salaam, Corporal Horace, late of 147, Sherwood-street, beloved brother of Annie and Edward Hall, and loving uncle of Dorrie, Stan, and Ernie (Mesopotamia).
