Charles Robinson Pullan was born on 14th October 1873 at Bradford and was the son of James Pullan a painter and decorator and Sarah Ann Pullan née Taylor. His father James was born in 1848 at Bradford and died prior to 1895 his mother Sarah Ann Taylor was born in 1850 at Bradford and died in 1900 at Bradford aged 50 yrs they were married on 3rd January 1870 at St Peters Cathedral, Bradford , they went on to have the following children all born at Bradford, John Henry b1870, Charles Robinson b1873, Ada Ann b1875, William Raby b1877, Alfred Edward b1879, Emma b1881, Annie b1884, James Waddington b1888, and Percy b1891. Charles married his wife Marie Lofthouse (born 1868 in Kirkstall, Leeds ) in 1898 at Bradford. In the 1911 census they are living at 99 Annesley Street, Nottingham and are shown as Charles 38 yrs a painter , he is living with his wife Marie 43 yrs they state they have been married for 13 yrs and have had no children. His wife Marie died in 1917 in Nottingham she was 48 yrs of age. Upon his death his next of kin was stated to be Mrs. Alfred Thomson, (a friend) of 37 Ryland Crescent, off Wilford Grove, Nottingham.

Military History

Air mechanic 3rd class Charles Pullan, enlisted on 27th September 1918 and served with the Royal Air Force, he died of influenza and bronchitis on 30th November 1918 at a military hospital at Nottingham. He is buried in Nottingham General Cemetery, and his name is commemorated on the screen wall.
