Lancaster I R5749 ZN-G took off 1859 12 Mar 1943 from Syerston. Shot down in the target area. The dead were taken to Dusseldorf and interred in the Nordfriedof on 16th March. Post 1945, their remains were transferred to the Reichswald Forset War Cemetery where they still lie. 6 fatalities: HSF Bishell, FB Clampitt, BJ Eckett, AL McDonald, RCC Owen, KRJ Young. RN Lindsay survived to become a pow.
