Take off RAF Syerston on a mission to BerlinShot down by Leutnant Rolf Bussmann of the 11./NJG 1 and crashed into the North Sea 40 km northwest of Vlieland at 22:23 (1/3/1943). Or shot down by Leutnant Oskar Köstler of the 10./NJG 1 and crashed into the North Sea 20 km northwest of Vlieland at 00:36. 2 Lancaster were lost in the same area the other being 103 Sqn W4361. Also reported hit by Flak and crashed into the Neustädter Bucht at 21:43 (1/3/1943)

This was the crew's 14th operation, although not all these counting towards a full tour as there had been several early returns due to various issues.
