Military history

Survived the sinking of Aircraft Carrier HMS Eagle 11/8/1942. Sunk by U73, south of Majorca. 900 of her complement of 1160 were rescued.
759 Sqn FAA. Norcott Vought F4U Corsair JS713 and Wenyon Vought F4U Corsair JS748 mid air collision while changing formation near RNAS Yeovilton. Both aircraft entered spins and crashed.

Lt Louis Wenyon RNVR, Corsair JS748 also killed
