He was the son of William and Clara (née Garton) Hall and the brother of Herbert and William Hall. In 1921, they lived at 74, Monmouth Street, Sheffield. By 1939, they had moved to 5, Simons Terrace, St Ann's, Nottingham although Stanley Hall was not recorded at the family address by the Register taken on September 29th.
