Military history

C-47 take off RAF Syerston to RAF Coleby Grange for parachute drop training exercise. As the 'stick' left the Dakota numbers 1 to 7 left equally spaced, 8 hesitated and 9 did not wait before leaving. This caused him to drop into number 8 deploying chute. Both men became entangled and fell to their deaths. Died from a fractured neck and mutiple injuries.
