Military history

Being given a lift from RAF Syerston into Newark, killed in a black-out accident on
the Fosse Way. Sergeant Baber, was in the passenger seat of a Ford being driven by Mrs Barbara Mary Spicer of “Sylverdene”, Fosse Road, Farndon, when it ran into the back
of a lorry, which had timber protruding some four feet beyond its rear.
