Son of Albert Davies Titcomb and Ethel Titcomb; husband of Peggy Edith Titcomb, of Sudbury, Middlesex.
22/23 October 1941 Hampden P1218 408 Sqn. Take off from RAF Syerston as part of 123 aircraft raid to bomb Mannheim. Thick cloud and icing led to only 58 aircraft reaching the area. 42 moved onto alternative target but bombing results were poor. Ground reports stated light attack with only 25 HE bombs and 30 incendiaries in the area 6 killed, 1 injured, 1 house destroyed, 35 damaged.
P1218 hit by Flak crashed near Bruchsal, Germany.
