17/18 July 1941 Wellington N2840 301 Sqn aircraft although attributed to 305 Sqn in the report, borrowed by 304 Sqn (Due to the amount of aircraft losses 304 Sqn had sustained) Take off 22.45 RAF Syerston, mission to bomb the docks at Rotterdam , shot down 02.15 near Cowtham House Farm, Balderton on return by Oblt Paul Semrau who claimed a Blenheim in a Ju88 C-2 of 3/NJG2 flown from Gilze-Rijen , Netherlands.

F/O Janusz Tomaszewski - Glider certificate awarded 17/8/1938 from Lwow Air Club. He was
awarded the certificate in an unusual circumstances, while flying his glider he accidentally crossed the Polish- Russian boarder and was the first Polish pilot to fly into Russia. The certificate is shown with a letter sent to his family informing them of the circumstances and that he was safe, while the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs was negotiating his release.
